Dear Prospective Marching Band students and parents,

Thank you for your interest in joining the 2011-2012 Marching Wildcats. The following information is designed to give you information about the marching band and the marching band season so you may make an informed decision about joining the band.

Last season 206 members joined us for the marching band season, 72 of which were new to the Marching Wildcats. The marching band performs for all the varsity home football games, the Naperville Labor Day Parade, the Naperville Memorial Day Parade, and three marching band festivals. So, please read through the following information, fill out the forms, and join us for our 15th season!

The main ideals of the Marching Wildcats are:

• Marching Band is a student leadership training device.
• Music and Movement are the primary tools for learning.
• Any band student is welcome to join the wind or percussion section. Any NVHS student is welcome to join the colorguard.
• We strive to perform our best, and we strive to improve every performance.
• We enjoy playing at home football games, marching band festivals, and parades.
• The NVHS Marching Band is one of the essential ensembles that comprise the NVHS Band Program.

Successful Participation Includes:

• Attendance at every rehearsal and performance
• Having the appropriate materials at every rehearsal and performance
• Giving 100% effort at every rehearsal and performance
• Being able to perform the music from memory as if you were playing a concert in the auditorium
• Being able to march the show without relying too much on your neighbors
