The Neuqua Valley
Orchestras are going to Austria and Southern Germany for ten days in
June of 2008. We will be traveling from June 12-21, touring and giving
concerts in Vienna, Salzburg and Munich. The connection of these cities
to western music can’t be overstated and we will have opportunities to
visit the homes and/or birthplaces of Beethoven, Mozart and Brahms among
others. We have been invited to give a concert in a local Viennese
school as well as in the Orangarie in Schönbrunn Palace (Mozart and
Salieri once had an evening of “dueling opera” in this room). Salzburg
is the birthplace of Mozart and one of the most picturesque cities in
Europe. We have an opportunity to have a clinic in the Mozarteum and an
evening concert in Salzburg. Munich is the capital of Bavaria and an
exciting city with great historic interest and wonderful shopping. We
will have local historic and musical tours in each city along with
interesting stops between each city.
