Summer Jazz Camp
June 9th - June 13th

For Students in grades 7-12

Students will meet from 2:00pm-5:00pm each day

Jazz concert performed on Friday, June 13 at 7:00

Registrations received after 5/23 will be accepted only if space remains - register early

Tuition $95.00 ($105.00 after 5/23)

Students will be placed in one of five ensembles and receive jazz training in the following areas: Big Band Performance Technique, Improvisation, Listening, History, and Exploration of jazz styles. A limited number of percussionists will be selected based on the student's application and will be notified by e-mail or telephone by June 4.

Summer Percussion Camp
June 9th - June 13th

For Students in grades 7-12

Students will meet from 9am until noon

Percussion Open House performed on June 13th at 11am

Percussionists will be grouped according to experience and teacher recommendation.

The Teacher Recommendation Form will be sent to your current band teacher by camp administration.

Students will be placed into ensembles based on the registration as of May 23rd

Tuition $95.00 ($105.00 after 5/23)

Rehearsals will include performance training in big band swing, latin styles (including clave and bossa patterns), improvisation techniques, proper practice habits, and tips on professional playing techniques.

Summer Chorus experience is a combination of a structured choral rehearsals and performance, activities relating to comprehensive musicianship (music reading, theory, history, etc.), and social activities. The choir(s) will meet afternoons Monday through Friday the week of June 16th, and Monday through Thursday the week of June 23, with a culminating performance Thursday evening, June 26th at 7pm in the Neuqua Valley Auditorium. Tuition is $45.00 ($55.00 after 5/23)

Music Technology
June 9th - June 13th

Experiments with Music Technology
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Students will be introduced to the three primary music software types: sequencing, notation, and computer-aided instruction. Using MIDI synthesizers, computer hardware, and music software. Over the course of the week, students will be asked to compose, arrange, improvise, record, and listen. Tuition is $65.00 ($75.00 after 5/23)

Music Sequencing
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Students will develop the art of sequencing and composing music using MIDI synthesizers and computer software supporting MIDI and digital audio. It is recommended that students who enroll in this course have prior Music Theory experience. Tuition is $65.00 after 5/23 ($75.00 after 5/23)

Register Early: classes limited to 15 participants!

All District 204 music students are automatically accepted into band, orchestra and world voices. All registrations for Jazz and Percussion will be guaranteed a spot if received by May 24th. Please note, it is not possible to reduce fees for absences and no refunds will be given after the session begins.
