NEUQUA VALLEY STEEL BANDS The NVHS Steel Band is an extra-curricular ensemble open to any students from Band, Chorus or Orchestra. There are two bands, Blue and Gold, which rehearse one evening a week throughout the academic year. Each ensemble consists of 10-12 pan players and a rhythm section (drumset, electric bass, and percussion). NV Steel Bands perform at a variety of Neuqua Valley Concerts and Community events. AUDITION/SCHEDULE INFORMATION FOR FALL 2011:
Steel Band begins in the fall with weekly help sessions to introduce new players to the music, rhythms and instruments. These sessions begin late September/early October. At the last session, a short audition is held to determine band placement and then regular rehearsals will commence. Exact dates and times will be made available in early September. |
